About
Stepanova Ballet Academy

The mission of Stepanova Ballet Academy is to shape passionate, dedicated dancers into refined, versatile, and resilient artists with a deep foundation in classical ballet. We strive to develop not only technical excellence but also individuality, artistry, and professionalism—empowering students to adapt, collaborate, and grow within the evolving landscape of today’s dance world.

Stepanova Ballet Academy was founded over 20 years ago by Artistic Director Tatiana Stepanova. Since its founding, the Academy has become one of Canada’s leading ballet institutions, known for producing technically strong, artistically mature dancers who have gone on to pursue professional careers and lifelong connections to the art of ballet.
The Academy provides year-round classical ballet training with a strong emphasis on performance, offering students the opportunity to take part in full-length productions as part of their development. With a faculty of former professional dancers and experienced educators, students receive personalized attention and a solid foundation rooted in classical technique.
The Professional Program offers an intensive pre-professional curriculum for serious dancers focused on classical ballet, pointe, repertoire, conditioning, and character. Beyond technique, the program emphasizes discipline, artistry, and stage experience—skills that serve students both in and outside of a professional dance career.
The Summer Intensive Program is one of the most comprehensive in the country. Designed for dedicated dancers ages 10 and up, the program offers focused daily training led by Stepanova’s renowned faculty and guest instructors. With an emphasis on technical refinement, musicality, and performance, the program supports meaningful progress in a condensed time.
For over two decades, Stepanova Ballet Academy has remained committed to shaping the next generation of dancers—not only through exceptional training, but through the life lessons and values that ballet instills.
