This enchanting story has long remained one of the jewels of the classical ballet repertoire, as it represents one of the few true comedies of ballet. Set in a charming, old-world village, Coppelia tells the story of a young man named Franz who falls in love with a life-size mechanical doll, created by the eccentric inventor Dr. Coppelius. Hilarity ensues as the townspeople, including Franz’s girlfriend Swanhilda, try to unravel the secrets of the mysterious doll and her maker.

Performed by dancers of Stepanova Ballet Academy, one of the top ballet schools in Canada, this production of Coppelia is a true showcase of the finest young talent in Canadian ballet.
